SRL Traffic Systems, Europe’s largest manufacturer and supplier of portable and temporary intelligent transport system (ITS) solutions, has appointed Paul Lewis as its new chief executive officer.
Lewis joins SRL from temporary security specialist VPS Group, where he served as UK and Ireland divisional CEO. He brings more than 20 years’ experience leading large, operationally intensive service businesses, having held senior roles at HSS Hire, Industrial Cleaning Equipment (ICE) and Rentokil Initial.
His appointment comes as SRL, backed by owner 3i Infrastructure, continues to expand its REMOS offering, the UK’s first scalable remotely operated mobile signal solution, designed to improve safety for road workers and site personnel.
Lewis will begin his tenure with a nationwide tour, visiting customers across the traffic management, construction, utilities and events sectors, as well as a number of SRL’s 25 depots across the UK and Ireland.
On his appointment, Lewis said, “I am very pleased to be joining SRL at an exciting point in its development. My focus is to unlock the significant growth potential of the business by building a resilient, future-proof organisation that consistently delivers high levels of service to our customers, backed by innovation that delivers real value.”
SRL’s non-executive chair, Kevin O’Connor, added, “Paul recognises that great businesses are built from the ground up. He will harness the passion and expertise of our front-line staff and leadership teams to lead SRL into the future.”
Lewis is SRL’s second senior appointment in recent months, following Ian Hunt’s arrival as chief financial officer in December.
