She recently served as the Vice President of Federal Affairs for Commercial Aviation, Sustainability, and Corporate Policy at The Boeing Company, where she was responsible for the development and execution of legislative strategy and engagement regarding commercial airplanes and aerospace safety, trade policy, environmental regulations, autonomous aviation, and global spectrum management. She’s also served as the Administrator of the Federal Highway Administration; as the Administrator of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration and the Assistant Secretary for Government Affairs; and as the Assistant Secretary of the Bureau of Administration at the U.S. Department of State, where she was responsible for worldwide logistics infrastructure, emergency management readiness, language services, and overseeing more than $9 billion in global contracting activities. In the private sector, Nicole was the Chief Safety Officer and Head of External Affairs at Cavnue, a company combining technology and road infrastructure to support connected and autonomous vehicles.
