TomTom (TOM2), a specialist in mapping and location technology, has announced that Kapsch TrafficCom (KTCG) has selected TomTom Traffic to support the next generation of its intelligent mobility solutions.
The collaboration will see TomTom’s traffic data integrated into Kapsch TrafficCom’s global traffic management offering, enabling road authorities and operators to make more accurate, data-driven decisions.
Under the agreement, TomTom’s Floating Car Data (FCD) and traffic services will be integrated directly into the EcoTrafiX Platform, Kapsch TrafficCom’s end-to-end traffic management system used by cities and road authorities around the world. The integration will provide users with real-time insights into traffic flow, incidents, congestion patterns and travel times, as well as data covering multimodal movement.
According to the companies, the built-in integration removes the need for project-specific customization or additional hardware, helping to reduce deployment complexity and shorten implementation timelines. This approach is intended to enable cities and road operators to access richer mobility intelligence more quickly while simplifying system rollouts.
The partnership is expected to expand Kapsch TrafficCom’s portfolio of traffic management technologies and strengthen its ability to deliver data-driven mobility services. By embedding detailed traffic insights within the EcoTrafiX Platform, the company aims to support public authorities seeking to improve road network performance, safety and efficiency.

“We are delighted about this partnership with TomTom, a leading traffic data provider,” said Samuel Kapsch, chief operating officer, Kapsch TrafficCom. “Data is making a real difference in combatting congestion, because it allows cities to better understand the impact of their actions on their mobility ecosystem. With this partnership, we are giving them real-time insights into their streets so they can ensure that mobility is accessible to everyone.”
“Cities and road operators increasingly need immediate, data-rich insights to keep people and goods moving safely and efficiently,” added Mike Schoofs, chief revenue officer, TomTom. “We’re excited to partner with Kapsch TrafficCom and power their solutions with our industry-leading traffic data. By combining our traffic intelligence with Kapsch TrafficCom’s platform, we enable cities and road authorities to make faster, smarter, and more sustainable decisions.”
At Intertraffic 2026, Kapsch TrafficCom is showcasing the enhanced EcoTrafiX Platform, including TomTom-powered live traffic and analytics capabilities, with live demonstrations for attendees.
