Mobilize, the Renault Group’s mobility brand, and Autostrade per l’Italia (ASPI), Italy’s leading motorway operator, have completed their strategic alliance aimed at accelerating sustainable mobility adoption throughout Italy.

The partnership establishes a nationwide charging network that will deploy 100 ultra-fast charging points across Italy’s motorway network by 2025. Located at ASPI service areas, these stations will initially feature four ultra-fast chargers capable of delivering up to 400 kW of power, with expansion planned based on demand growth.

This initiative supports Italy’s National Recovery and Resilience Plan, which targets 21,000 public charging points on major Italian routes by 2026. The collaboration also addresses key sustainability directives from the European Union, including the requirement for charging infrastructure every 60 km along European transport networks by 2026.

The alliance was formalized after receiving regulatory approval from Italy’s Ministry of Enterprises and Made in Italy. It combines Mobilize’s expertise in electric vehicle charging solutions with ASPI’s extensive motorway network spanning 3,000 kilometers across Italy.

In addition to charging infrastructure, the partnership will develop integrated services for electric vehicle drivers in Italy, including combined charging and toll payment solutions. Both companies aim to connect charging stations with mobile applications, facilitating seamless payment and user experience.

Mobilize, launched in 2021, currently offers charging solutions across 28 European countries through its Mobilize Power Solutions and Mobilize Charge Pass services. Autostrade per l’Italia manages approximately half of Italy’s toll motorway network and serves 4 million customers daily.
