The City of Boca Raton in Florida is launching its first autonomous shuttle service, introducing a driverless vehicle loop connecting residents and visitors within its Mizner Park area.
The city, the second largest in the Palm Beaches area in southeastern Florida, will benefit from the MiCa shuttle, developed through a partnership between the city, Circuit Transit and technology company Guident.
The shuttle that will be managed by Guident’s Remote Monitoring and Control Center (RMCC) Platform, which provides real-time vehicle oversight, predictive safety monitoring, and fleet management capabilities. Circuit meanwhile will deliver its management capability building on its experience in operating all-electric, on-demand micro transit services in more than 50 US markets, delivering millions of rides.
“With MiCa, we’re not just introducing autonomous technology we’re building a model of how cities, partners, and technology providers can create safer and smarter transportation together,” said Boca Raton City Council Member Yvette Drucker.
Boca Raton officials, community leaders, and executives from Circuit and Guident are attending a launch ceremony – at 4pm local time on November 21, 2025 – which will include a ceremony and a showcase of the RMCC Platform featuring live fleet telemetry and real-time dashboards, and an interactive technology zone with community engagement booths.
“The MiCa is managed by Guident’s RMCC Platform which bridges technology and human judgment ensuring that every autonomous journey is monitored, secure, and safe,” says Harald Braun, executive chairman and CEO of Guiden
“Partnering with Guident to introduce an autonomous service in Boca is about continuing to innovate while giving the community a safe, seamless way to get where they need to go,” adds Alex Esposito, CEO and co-founder of Circuit.
