It has been announced that Jon Newhard has been appointed the new CEO of Yunex Traffic, taking over from Markus Schlitt.

US-born Newhward, has over two decades of experience in information technology, business development and commercial strategy, and has shown repeated ability to build and grow businesses in the ITS sector.

Jon Newhard gained functional experience in sales and product management with global companies such as Siebel and SAP. He was CEO of Trafficware, a company that provides traffic management solutions, from 2013-2018 and then lead Cubic’s ITS division until 2020. Having obtained a degree in Economics and Engineering from the United States Military Academy at West Point, Newhard completed an MBA in General Management at Harvard Business School.  Mr. Newhard also serves on the board of Miovision and Synapse ITS.

Newhard was selected by Yunex Traffic’s holding sole share holder Mundys to lead the next phase of the company’s growth and to drive value creation in all areas in which the company operates, as well as in particularly strategic countries such as the USA.

“It’s an incredible honor to lead this dynamic team as we pave the way for a smarter, safer, and more sustainable future in mobility,” says Newhard. “My journey to Yunex Traffic has been shaped by a deep passion for leveraging technology to make a meaningful impact. I am excited to bring my expertise in enterprise software technology and I combined with my experience in traffic management to this new role.

“My mission is clear: Together with the incredible Yunex Traffic team, we will pioneer the interplay of the latest technological advancements and revolutionize global mobility. Let’s roll up our sleeves and shape the future of mobility together!”
