ISS introduces new traffic violation detection system for crossroads

New Jersey-based Intelligent Security Systems (ISS), a leading global provider of intelligent Video Management Systems (VMS) and native analytics, has launched its new SecurOS Crossroad Traffic Violation Detection Solution to monitor vehicles at intersections.

The new system combines specifically engineered analytics-driven software and hardware to provide real-time detection of illegal driving behavior at road intersections. The SecurOS Crossroad Traffic Violation Detection Solution is powered by ISS’s SecurOS Auto ALPR and analytics software to provide real-time detection of complex traffic violations with highly accurate identification of the vehicle committing the infringement. SecurOS Crossroad monitors multiple vehicles and pedestrian behavior at intersections and potentially hazardous roadways.

The turnkey system automatically detects vehicles that run red lights and stop-signs, are traveling in the wrong direction, not following road signs or yielding to pedestrians, and various other violations. The Crossroad Traffic Violation Detection Solution can also be used for monitoring the illegal vehicle bypass of closed or closing railroad crossing gates during prohibitory signals, and driving in lanes designated for public transportation, bicycle lanes, or pedestrian paths and sidewalks.

The SecurOS Crossroad Traffic Violation Detection Solution is supplied with processing housed in an environmentally protected, ready-to-mount enclosure that integrates with existing traffic hardware such as stoplight controllers. The turnkey solution also includes ISS’s high-resolution IP67-rated waterproof IP-camera specifically designed for traffic systems surveillance applications, which is equipped with a motorized zoom lens that is configurable for infrared or white-light illuminators.

Designed to seamlessly integrate with Safe City systems, SecurOS Crossroad also generates detailed traffic statistics data, which can be used in municipalities’ traffic management systems. This latest addition to the ISS portfolio of natively developed analytics is based on the company’s recently enhanced Version 10 SecurOS v.10 VMS platform. The Crossroad Traffic Violation Detection Solution will be available from the end of April.

“Our new SecurOS Crossroad Traffic Violation Detection Solution provides numerous unique benefits. It provides extreme accuracy in terms of detecting complex traffic violations while precisely identifying the vehicle committing the violation. In addition to improving pedestrian and vehicular traffic safety, SecurOS Crossroad provides municipalities with a new source of revenue,” said Shawn Mather, director of sales in the USA for ISS. “Our commitment to develop innovative software solutions built on advanced Artificial Neural Network technologies with partners like Intel enables us to deliver the highest levels of vehicle identification accuracy. Whether used in conjunction with our powerful suite of SecurOS VMS solutions, or with third-party software, we are continually developing new and enhanced intelligent analytics that leverage our expertise in neural networks to deliver superior performance for a wide range of applications.”
