Crash barrier

TrafFix Devices is showcasing its range of innovative crash barriers at this week’s (June 17-19) Intertraffic Americas in Mexico City.

At Booth 612, TrafFix Devices will display its Delta TL-3 Crash Cushion, Delta TL-2+ Crash Cushion, SLED TL-3, and Scorpion II Truck Mounted Attenuator.

The Delta TL-2+ and TL-3 Crash Cushions are designed for rapid installation, long-term durability, and impact protection. Both models feature patented Thrie-Beam fender panels with tear bolts, ensuring controlled energy attenuation without the need for hydraulics or cables.

Additionally, they are equipped with the Sentinel Impact Tracker, providing real-time impact alerts. Pre-assembled and ready for immediate deployment, these crash cushions minimize labor and reduce traffic exposure, while also offering easy repair and transport.

The primary distinction between the two models: the TL-2+ is rated for 50 MPH applications, while the TL-3 is engineered for higher-speed roadways, with a rating of up to 62.5 MPH.

TrafFix Device’s SLED TL-3 is a water-filled, non-redirective crash cushion engineered to protect the ends of various barriers, including concrete, steel, and plastic.

Its standout features include internal steel cables that help contain vehicles upon impact, a design that eliminates the need for foundation anchoring, and a narrow footprint ideal for tight work zones.

The SLED is quick to install, highly visible, and designed to absorb collision energy while minimizing secondary accidents and debris spread.

The Scorpion II Truck Mounted Attenuator (TMA) is the first MASH tested, passed, and eligible TMA, meeting TL-3 standards for impacts up to 62.5 mph. Its modular design features energy-absorbing aluminium honeycomb cushions that reduce impact forces and repair costs.

Full-width curved side rails help redirect errant vehicles, protecting workers and drivers alike. At just 13 feet deployed, it’s the most compact MASH Eligible TMA, improving maneuverability and minimizing incidental impacts. Enhanced with omnivolt LED lighting and compatible with the Doctor Air Brake system, the Scorpion II prioritizes safety and performance.
