Kapsch TrafficCom has announced that Yana Ekasiwi, area sales manager for Indonesia and Malaysia, has been appointed as a board member and deputy vice president of international relations at ITS Indonesia.
ITS Indonesia is a national platform that promotes the development and implementation of intelligent transport systems across the country. It brings together stakeholders from government, academia, and industry to foster innovation and collaboration in mobility.
In her new role, Ekasiwi will spearhead international cooperation initiatives and foster strategic partnerships to support Indonesia’s rapidly evolving transport infrastructure. She will also serve as co-organizer of Indonesia’s delegation to the ITS Asia Pacific Forum, taking place in Suwon, South Korea, at the end of May 2025. This event is a key platform for regional collaboration and innovation in intelligent transport systems.
“It is an honor to contribute to Indonesia’s transport transformation and represent our country on the international stage,” Ekasiwi said. “I look forward to working with global partners to bring innovative solutions that address Indonesia’s unique mobility challenges.”
As the world’s fourth most populous country and the largest economy in Southeast Asia, Indonesia is a critical market for intelligent transport and tolling solutions. With over 280 million people and a rapidly urbanizing population, the country faces significant challenges in traffic congestion, emissions, and infrastructure development.
Indonesia’s government has prioritized smart mobility and digital transformation in its national development agenda, including major investments in toll road expansion, urban transit systems, and traffic management technologies. The country’s archipelagic geography also presents unique logistical and connectivity challenges that demand innovative, scalable solutions.
ITS Indonesia plays a vital role in aligning public and private sector efforts to modernize the nation’s transport systems, making it a key partner for global technology providers like Kapsch TrafficCom.
