Pennsylvania DOT won a second award in yesterday’s (February 18, 2021) Transportation Systems Management and Operations (TSMO) Awards. This award was for its Regional Operations Plans, which initiated collaboration and long-term planning activities to improve the safety and mobility of their travelers. The initiative won PennDOT the Project Selection and Prioritization accolade. A full case study of the project has been published by award organisers The National Operations Center of Excellence (NOCoE).

The winner in each of the four categories announced February 18 automatically becomes a nominee for the Overall TSMO Award, to be presented in late spring. Last year’s Overall TSMO Award Winner was Georgia Department of Transportation for its Automated Traffic Signal Performance Measure system.
