Solar Gates UK launches new 7m wide solar-powered barrier

Solar Gates UK has launched the Sosec 200+, a fully solar-powered, portable barrier designed to secure worksite access points up to 7 metres wide.

Unlike other solutions that have attempted to stretch barrier coverage, the Sosec 200+ builds on a decade of proven reliability from the market-leading Sosec range, trusted on major projects like HS2 for its durability, efficiency, and security.

Retaining the same trusted Sosec barrier technology, the 200+ model introduces key advancements for larger construction and infrastructure sites, including an extended 7m barrier arm for wider access points, enhancing control and coverage for larger sites; an safer, easier-to-install solar-mount design; improved solar efficiency; and rugged reliability.

Like all Sosec barriers, the Sosec 200+ is fully compliant with UK barrier and gate regulations. It features auto-exit functionality, safety beams, and round-the-clock solar operation (24/7/365). Plus, it can be fully customised with a range of access control options to fit site-specific security needs.

“The Sosec range set the benchmark for solar-powered site security, and the Sosec 200+ takes that reliability even further,” says Neil Sampson, MD of Solar Gates UK says. “By extending the barrier to 7 metres, we’re addressing a real challenge for construction and infrastructure projects – securing larger access points without compromising efficiency. With enhanced solar performance and safety-driven design improvements, the Sosec 200+ is the toughest, most adaptable solution for wide-area site security.”
