One of the USA’s leading suppliers of applied informatics systems for the transportation industry, Iteris Inc., has announced an exclusive agreement with Traffic & Parking Control Co Inc. (TAPCO) to distribute its Intelligent Warning Systems (IWS) products throughout Texas.
Based in Wisconsin, TAPCO is an industry-leading innovator that manufactures and distributes a wide portfolio of traffic and parking safety systems, including a wide range of solar-powered, wireless and eco-friendly intelligent transportation products. Iteris’s deal spans TAPCO’s complete offering of IWS solutions, which includes solar-powered and LED-enhanced systems for pedestrian crosswalks, stop sign intersections, work zones, parking facilities, and other applications.
The company’s popular BlinkerChevron Dynamic Curve Warning System will also be offered as part of the agreement, along with its innovative wrong-way driving prevention solutions.
From its base in California, Iteris supplies the transportation industry with a wide range of camera and radar-based vehicle detection sensor systems, as well as leading diagnostic and analytic software platforms for the monitoring and management of transport networks. As well as the addition of TAPCO’s safety-related equipment to its product offering, the deal also represents a milestone in Iteris’s strategic focus on its geographical expansion into one of the USA’s largest transportation markets.
“Our intelligent warning systems have become widely used throughout the state of Texas, which triggered our decision to evaluate distribution partners in the industry,” said Lindsay Lau, director of sales at TAPCO.
“Iteris was an easy choice because of its reputation, industry expertise, and superior service levels. The company’s ability to foster long-term relationships by educating end users and contractors on advanced roadway technology will ensure our innovative products are well represented, and people are safer as a result.”
Nader Ayoub, regional vice president for roadway sensors at Iteris, commented, “TAPCO’s range of advanced roadway technology complements our own offerings, and will position us to deliver end-to-end solutions in a key strategic market for the company. Texas is one of the largest, most progressive and influential transportation markets in the USA, so we would expect our innovative use of technology in the state to ultimately benefit the safety and convenience of road users nationwide.”
