Intertraffic Amsterdam has partnered with Automotive Week 2017 to underline the cooperation opportunities between the traffic technology and automotive industry as these key industries are undergoing significant technological transformations.

The developments in the automotive, telecom and the Internet world are moving very fast. The user is constantly connected to the Internet and expects road authorities, transport operators and service providers to go along with these trends. From Sunday 26 until Friday 31 March 2017 (inter)national mobility experts will gather at the Automotive Campus in Helmond, the Netherlands to jointly discuss how future mobility can be organised. The Intertraffic summit will be held on Tuesday 28 March.

A vast discussion point is how to deal with the increasingly complex road situations when more and more vehicles are connected to each other and to the Internet. While automated vehicles advance towards higher automation levels cooperation becomes key. This creates new business opportunities and leads to new technology companies within the industry. During the Intertraffic summit on Tuesday 28 March the focus will be on what the automated industry means for our current traffic and mobility management and how the world of automotive and mobility can cooperate more closely.

Joyce de Winter, Exhibition Manager Intertraffic Amsterdam, “Traditionally Intertraffic Amsterdam has a focus on traffic technology and transportation. With mobility becoming smarter at an incredible pace, the connected automotive market is a significant stakeholder. For Intertraffic Amsterdam 2018 we are incorporating the automotive market in our platform thus participation at the Automotive Week was an obvious choice for us.”

Richard Butter, Exhibition Director Intertraffic Worldwide Events, adds “At the Automotive Week we make a connection between the traffic technology and automotive industry. Intertraffic Amsterdam is a biennial event so to be able to showcase the industry what new aspects they can expect at next year’s event is a great opportunity.”

The Intertraffic summit “When Traffic and Automotive join forces” on Tuesday 28 March kicks off with a plenary programme by internationally renowned speakers on topics such as “what it takes to make automated driving a reality”, “harmonization between C-ITS projects”, “TM 2.0 and the role of automation in traffic management”, “regional authority to test C-ITS and automated vehicles” and “the BMW Group on trends & developments in connected and automated driving.” Followed by a panel discussion on “anticipating on the changing mobility” the summit continues in the afternoon with a variety of dynamic workshops where best practices and pioneering mobility concepts will be shown.

Automotive Week is celebrating its 3rd edition and offers a more international programme than previous years. The focus of this edition is on international mobility experts and the importance of sharing more data and knowledge to create new opportunities to improve traffic flow, accessibility, liveability and safety. As the world’s largest and most influential trade event for traffic and mobility Intertraffic Amsterdam recognizes the importance of creating new mobility opportunities together and has joined Automotive Week 2017 as partner and programme organiser. National and international stakeholders in the field of smart mobility have been invited to take part in the five day programme.
