One of the leading suppliers of wireless communication systems to the traffic and intelligent transportation systems (ITS) market, Intuicom Inc., has unveiled its new Axiom family of high performance wireless broadband radios at this week’s 2018 IMSA (International Municipal Signal Association) Forum & Expo in Orlando, Florida.

With throughput capabilities up to 1.7Gbps, the new Axiom family of broadband products continues Intuicom’s history of delivering best-in-class, high performance wireless broadband radios that have been engineered to address the bandwidth-intense environments faced by traffic engineers and transportation managers in the current challenging and rapidly evolving ITS marketplace.

With Intuicom’s patented BroadbandPro Enterprise Management Software, users can automatically discover, configure and optimize their Axiom wireless systems for robust point-to-point, point-to-multipoint or mesh networks, using the latest MIMO (multiple-input and multiple-output) technology.

At the IMSA Forum & Expo, Intuicom demonstrated the advanced capabilities of the Axiom family of broadband wireless systems, as well as the enhanced functionality of the latest Version 4.0 of its widely-used BroadbandPro Enterprise Management Software.

The Colorado-based company’s flagship network management solution, BroadBandPro Enterprise Management Software, lets users automatically discover, configure, optimize and secure their Intuicom Wireless Broadband Networks. Its intuitive interface hides the sophistication and advanced capabilities of the enterprise-class platform. Users get an ingenuous, easy to understand user interface that makes advanced management of their wireless networks relatively simple.

Intuicom’s new Axiom broadband family of products delivers industry-leading transmission power, range, and the highest throughput available for bandwidth-intensive applications.

Each Axiom unit also includes an external status panel with LEDs indicating signal strength to aid in antenna alignment, as well as a status indicator and reset button. The result is one of the fastest, easiest deployments currently available for wireless broadband networks.

Axiom’s key features include:

• IEEE 802.3 af/at compliant;

• Available in Integrated, Standalone, and Dual Access Point Cluster configurations;

• 10/100/1,000Mbps Ethernet;

• 30+ mile (48km) range (LOS);

• 866Mbps (single), up to 1.7Gbps (dual);

• Embedded GPS geolocation for easy mapping and positioning;

• Adaptive modulation, dynamic frequency selection;

• External status panel with RSSI LEDs, power indicator and power on reset button.

The units have multiple applications for use in wide-area traffic monitoring and management networks, and will also be suitable for many future vehicle-to-infrastructure (V2I) or vehicle-to-everything (V2X) deployments, as well as smart city projects.

“Secure high-speed wireless communication is the foundation for all of our ITS products and integrated traffic solutions,” noted Joaquin Segl, director of traffic and ITS sales and business development at Intuicom.

“With its industry-leading data throughput and extended range, the Axiom family of ITS solutions delivers unsurpassed connectivity and accessibility to relevant traffic management information without compromising network security or availability.”
