USDOT FHWA uses VR to test V2P communications

The US Department of Transportation’s Federal Highway Administration (USDOT FHWA) is using a virtual reality (VR) lab to conduct vehicle-to-pedestrian (V2P) research. VR allows numerous driver and pedestrian behaviors, and subsequent outcomes, to be simulated and tested without placing anyone at risk.
