Telvent DTN is seeking a motivated DOT Sales Manager to generate new revenue by selling comprehensive weather information products and forecasting services to government DOTs and commercial markets to include transportation / logistics companies and railways. Responsibilities include making customer calls, providing product demonstrations, writing product / contract proposals, consultative selling, and account management for top customers.
Requirements:
• Generate new business opportunities through a variety of sales activities including cold calling, independent lead generation, direct presentations, and prospect development to achieve the required level of sales funnel activity.
• Achieve or exceed defined sales and revenue goals of the position.
• Collaborate with fellow sales, marketing and product management teams on various sales efforts.
• 40-50% travel rate.
Qualifications:
• BA/BS Degree in Sales, Marketing, or related field required
• 5+ years sales experience
• Experience with DOT management, public transportation, or highway safety management preferable OR minimum of 5 years of demonstrated success in outside sales in a competitive service industry
• Solid interpersonal, writing, presentation and communication skills
• Ability to act independently toward achieving sales goals and objectives
• Ability to grasp new concepts, technologies and products quickly and effectively
• Technical aptitude; adept at learning and absorbing technical product information quickly
• Selling software as a service is a definite plus
