The Intelligent Transportation Society of America (ITS America) announced the inductees into the first class of ITS America’s Hall of Fame.
The recipients of this award were selected based on their standard of leadership in the transportation technology arena. Each has served an outstanding, lifelong career dedicated to organizational leadership in the field and thought leadership contributing to the vision of intelligent transportation systems. All have been tireless advocates for fulfilling ITS’s promise.
Michael Doyle, the immediate past board chair of ITS America, says, “It is such a pleasure to be able to recognize these icons in the ITS world. Their unwavering dedication and passion to our industry has been has been foundational to bringing about positive change to our nation’s transportation system.”
The inaugural class of ITS America’s ITS Hall of Fame includes:
* Dr. Joseph (Joe) Giglio, Graduate School of Business at Northeastern University in Boston, MA
* Robert Parsons, Parsons Transportation Associates (awarded posthumously)
* Lyle Saxton, retired from the Federal Highway Administration, US DOT
* T. Russell Shields, Ygomi, LLC
* Harry Voccola, NAVTEQ
* Michael Walton, University of Texas at Austin
