Intertraffic Amsterdam 2018 introduces ITSUP event for traffic and mobility startups

With an increasing number of traffic technology and smart mobility startups contributing significantly to the innovative character of the transportation industry, the organizers of Intertraffic Amsterdam 2018 are introducing a platform for these new businesses.

Commercial organizations, cities and government authorities are keen to cooperate with these new entrepreneurs, so Intertraffic is launching the new ITSUP event during next year’s Amsterdam show.

ITSUP will provide the perfect opportunity for startups to engage with a large and high-quality audience of traffic technology professionals and to pitch their innovative solutions to existing problems. ITSUP will be held from March 20-23 during Intertraffic Amsterdam 2018. The Intertraffic brand, with its global event portfolio, hopes to provide the ideal setting for startups to present their latest solutions and connect with suitable partners.

The ITSUP event will be staged in a dedicated hall, next to the new Smart Mobility hall. There will be open stages available for presentations, as well as a networking area in the center of the hall to facilitate matchmaking opportunities. There is also scope for live demonstrations in and around RAI Amsterdam. The hall will also feature a small segment for pre-startup solutions, as well as a hackathon, organized for technical university students. ITSUP will be made possible through the support provided by sponsors, partners, and the Intertraffic organization, enabling startups to participate for a nominal exhibition fee.

Startups which fall within the startup criteria can sign up for the event through the Intertraffic website. Among the criteria are a solid business plan and an innovative intelligent solution. Products will also need to be globally applicable and hyper-scalable (rapid growth rate) with a high feasibility factor. The startup must pertain to at least one of the following industries: traffic technology, telecom, automotive, service providers, security industry or ICT.

“We believe the ITSUP event could be a great asset for sponsors and partners alike. The link between a company’s brand and innovation is very valuable in this day and age,”, said Joyce de Winter, exhibition manager of Intertraffic Amsterdam.

“The number of smart mobility startups keeps rising, which is why a lot of companies want to cooperate with young, innovative businesses. ITSUP works both ways – by providing startups with a platform to pitch their ideas, they can find suitable partners; and established companies can look for new and relevant concepts within the industry.”
