Global traffic technology market prepares for two Intertraffic events in May

Next month sees two major industry events for traffic professionals from around the globe, who will have ample opportunity to see the latest products, systems and technologies at Intertraffic shows in China and Turkey.

Offering added value to visitors and exhibitors, the organizers are introducing a number of new initiatives during Intertraffic China, which takes place next week on May 4-6 in Shanghai, swiftly followed by Intertraffic Istanbul staged on May 24-26 at the Istanbul Expo Center. Intertraffic events offer a comprehensive overview of the very latest products, services and solutions offered by suppliers, while also showcasing the newest industry-wide trends and developments. The May events are followed by Intertraffic Mexico on November 15-17, and Intertraffic Amsterdam on March 20-23, 2018.

This year’s Intertraffic China event will occupy two halls at the Shanghai New International Exhibition Center (SNIEC) totaling nearly 22,000m² of show floor surface, with around 200 national and international exhibitors. A matchmaking program for visitors and exhibitors alike to optimize business opportunities will be introduced this year, as well as a field trip to the ‘Nice City’ autonomous car testbed. Strategic topics and best practices are incorporated in the seminar program, with presentations on topics such as how to do business in China, and China’s auto industry in the age of disruption. The show is organized by RAI Amsterdam, together with its regional partners, Transport Technology Exchange Center (TTEC), and ITS China.

Exhibition director for Intertraffic China, Editha Hoogenberg-Derksen, commented, “We endeavor to connect as many international and Chinese professionals as possible. A dedicated seminar about how to do business in China, including Chinese companies looking for export partners, should provide fruitful opportunities. I am also really enthusiastic about the field trip scheduled. China has made ‘intelligent connected cars’ a key direction of its 2025 roadmap to manufacturing upgrades. And this project is set in the Jiading District, home to nearly 70% of the city’s car manufacturing, and 80% automotive research and development.”

The Intertraffic event in Istanbul, held in cooperation with regional partner UBM NTSR, has a strong focus on the Eurasian and MENA region. Alongside the exhibition, there is a conference and workshop program. The International Road Federation (IRF) will run workshops on: smart solutions for safer mobility; successfully deploying automated speed enforcement programs; roadway analytics; and the latest developments on connected and cooperative vehicles, V2X communications, and the rise of disruptive technologies in transportation.
