Organizers release early details of Traffex 2017 exhibition and conference

Europe’s largest dedicated road, traffic and transport event, Traffex, is returning for its 28th year to the NEC, Birmingham, UK, in April, and the organizers have released early details of the combined exhibition and conference.

With the total number of miles travelled by cars having grown to over 248 billion a year, there has been an increased call to improve the development of technology for the UK road network, as well as focus on alternative modes of travel. Traffex 2017 will welcome the pioneer companies at the forefront of road innovation, coming together to reveal the latest products and services available to the sector. On April 4-6, the international traffic management, road safety and highways maintenance exhibition will showcase over 350 exhibitors. Visitors will have the chance to interact with technologies that are set to shape UK roads and the transport network of the future. The exhibition will bring together 10,000 industry experts who will be on hand to discuss everything from software production, to cutting edge safety systems.

Traffex will also host over 30 free-to-attend seminars, providing a platform for today’s transport issues to be discussed. New for 2017, the Highways and Transport theatre will tackle some of the industry’s key operational challenges, while the Traffex theatre will present a series of high-level, thought leadership-style presentations for those developing strategies and an alternative take on the sector. Covering a range of subjects from funding and devolution to highway maintenance and innovation, attendees will gain an exclusive insight into a number of key issues facing the sector.

Across the three days, a range of speakers will share best practice and give advice on a new way of thinking on both strategic and operational issues. High-profile keynote speakers at the conference include Jim O’Sullivan, CEO of Highways England, who will be examining the future challenges and opportunities of the strategic network, and Rupert Clubb, president of ADEPT (Association of Directors of Environment, Economy, Planning and Transport) giving his professional insight into the future of the highways infrastructure.

Co-located with Traffex will be Europe’s largest dedicated parking exhibition, Parkex 2017. The British Parking Association (BPA) event will provide a meeting point for the industry’s largest suppliers and a platform for leading parking brands to launch their latest innovative products, technologies, and services. Visitors will find an abundance of knowledge, research and experience through the extensive program of seminars and presentations.

“Traffex will deliver a unique insight into the very best technology, products and services the industry has to offer, all of which have a potential solution to some of the industry's greatest challenges,” commented Adrian Tatum, conference director for Traffex and Parkex 2017. “Exhibitors at Traffex include some of the most forward-thinking technology companies in the world, which helps provide a platform for more efficient ways of working.”

Exhibitor Tracsis’s business development director, Paul Jackson, noted, “Traffex gives direct access to industry professionals, and provides an opportunity to showcase new technologies to a wide range of existing and future clients.”
