The International Road Federation (IRF) has announced the winners of its 2016 Global Road Achievement Awards at a special ceremony held during the 2nd IRF Asia Regional Congress & Exhibition, in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

Since their inception in 2000, the IRF Global Road Achievement Awards have recognized more than 120 programs, projects and products from around the world. This year, the IRF honored 12 projects from 10 countries, each leading the way in innovation across major road and highway disciplines. The selection was made by an international panel of senior road development specialists. The winning projects this year range from a Chinese bridge that blends into the natural landscape, to a moveable concrete highway barrier, complex motorway projects, a recycled road surface mix, and Malaysia’s first elevated Bus Rapid Transit system.
