Geveko expands into Chinese market

Geveko has acquired the Swiss company Teleconsa AG. Included in the acquisition is 50% ownership in Teleconsa’s Chinese subsidiary, Consa (Shanghai) Trading Co Ltd, which is engaged in sales of traffic products and roadmarking products, which include highway delineators, road studs, and deceleration bands. Geveko, which has cooperated with Teleconsa for 20 years, is paying a purchase price of approximately EUR300,000 (US$403,000).

Geveko is currently engaged in contract road marking through wholly or partly owned companies in 12 countries in Europe. Its principal customers are road and aviation authorities and municipalities, as well as large road maintenance companies. “The acquisition has a high strategic importance, as during the last few years we have gradually has increased our presence in selected markets outside Europe, among others in the Middle East, North Africa and South America,” explained Goran Eklund, Geveko’s CEO and managing director. These marketing efforts will continue and hopefully, in the long term, will contribute to increased sales of our road marking products.”
