TomTom partners with VMZ Berlin

TomTom has formed a 10-year partnership with VMZ Berlin, which operates the city’s Traffic Information Center. The company will provide VMZ with real-time traffic information for Berlin and for selected parts of the State of Brandenburg. VMZ will use the company’s accurate HD Flow product, so that traffic management engineers in Berlin can react faster to congestion and improve real-time traffic information for drivers, businesses, organizations and the media. The HD Flow system delivers speed information for all main roads, so that traffic flow can be visualized and evaluated to assess true travel times for the entire road network. VMZ uses this information to provide strategic traffic management to Berlin and parts of Brandenburg, including the corridor leading to and from the city’s new Berlin Brandenburg Airport. The traffic information service is also available free of charge to the public via VMZ’s internet site.
