Technology services provider Telent has acquired TSEU Group, a specialist provider of traffic controls.
TSEU includes Traffic Signals UK and Microsense Systems, which provide services for the urban roads market mostly in the UK. TSEU helps local authorities to manage transport infrastructure in the face of increasing traffic congestion. The company designs, installs, supports and manages traffic solutions, from the design of traffic controls through to the development of traffic management software.
TSEU has offices and depots across the UK and employs approximately 200 people. The company’s key customers include the local authorities of Cambridgeshire, Kent, Glasgow and civil contractors, including Amey and Carillion.
“This is a fantastic opportunity for Telent,” says Mark Plato, chief executive of Telent. “We already have an established relationship with the Highways Agency and have over 30 years’ experience of providing integrated services and solutions to customers in the UK road industry. The acquisition of TSEU Group will help us to further extend our experience and knowledge beyond the motorway network and into the cities, where we see growth opportunities driven by the need for electronic tolling and intelligent traffic information and management.”
