Citilog has launched its MediaIntruder intelligent incident detection system in North America to monitor for incidents on video feeds.
If the system detects an incident, the system flashes the location of the incident in red on the monitor screen, highlighting the image and providing alarm-based notification.
Citilog claims this automation greatly improves the likelihood that incidents are detected by operators. MediaIntruder allows the implementation of large-scale anti-intrusion systems, where one operator would not normally be able to monitor each video stream effectively.
“There is no doubt that traffic management and homeland security are paramount issues facing city, county and state infrastructure management today,” says Chris Girardeau, chief executive of Citilog.
“MediaIntruder… can discriminate the presence of vehicles from local disturbances such as reflections, shadows or interfering movements like moving trees. Such intelligence in video surveillance monitoring has been sorely lacking, yet is needed to enable effective and efficient operations management for traffic sites. MediaIntruder meets these requirements in a solution that seamlessly integrates with existing infrastructures of CCTV cameras.”
