Sensys Networks launches latest version of its SNAPS software system

One of the world’s leading provider of wireless traffic detection and integrated data systems, Sensys Networks Inc, has announced that it has released the latest version of its Networks Archive and Proxy Server (SNAPS). The new 2.4 upgrade of SNAPS employs Google Maps to provide traffic managers with real-time traffic conditions via color-coded congestion segments. An enhanced user interface enables advanced remote network management and real-time system performance validation, while user-defined alerts improve responsiveness to changing traffic conditions, as well as hardware/software events.

In order to further streamline traffic management operations, SNAPS 2.4 automation upgrades include: statistical reporting at customizable intervals on count, speed and percentage of lane occupancy; user-defined reporting templates, which are exportable to Excel, HTML or graphic display file formats; and the ability to output data to a variety of third-party applications. The company’s universal platform is designed to deliver a dependable, flexible and cost-effective system, using patented, wireless magnetic sensors, which can be installed in a fraction of the time, and with far less disruption to traffic than traditional detection technologies.

The company’s systems are deployed in more than 40 US states and 10 countries. “Incorporating our customer’s feedback greatly improved SNAPS’ functionality and provided a highly extensible platform for their detection systems,” said Brian Fuller, vice presidents of engineering at Sensys. “Our continued commitment to improving all aspects of our VDS240 wireless vehicle detection is apparent in this latest release.”
