Cinterion Wireless Modules – a leading supplier of cellular machine-to-machine (M2M) communication modules – has joined ERTICO – ITS Europe, Europe’s Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) professional organization.
Cinterion brings to ERTICO and its partners 15 years experience designing and manufacturing communication modules specifically for the automotive and ITS sector. “Cinterion has been designing innovative wireless modules for the automotive, telematics and intelligent road industry for 15 years and we’re excited to join with other industry leaders to chart the course ahead to safer, more effective roadways and travel,” said Marcel Visser, vice president, Cinterion Wireless Modules, Automotive. “As a member of ERTICO, Cinterion is committed to supporting the latest policy developments such as the ITS Action Plan adopted by the European parliament, eTolling and eCall, all of which contribute to increased road and driver safety and reduced consumption of fuel and overall CO2 output. We look forward to lending our expertise to ITS research and new deployment projects supported by other EU institutions.”
“Transport is quickly evolving toward safer, more environmentally friendly and effective mobility and wireless networks and M2M technologies are at the center of effective M2M and telematics solutions,” commented Hermann Mayer, CEO, ERTICO. “We are fortunate to have Cinterion as an active partner in our initiatives and we look forward to working together to extend the reach of intelligent wireless technology to improve our road systems.”
