VideoIQ introduces three new lines of video surveillance cameras

VideoIQ has announced the introduction of three new ranges of video surveillance cameras – the iCVR dome camera line, the iCVR-MP megapixel dome cameras and the iCST range of streaming cameras and encoders. All three product lines are suitable for traffic, tunnel, bridge, car park or infrastructure surveillance applications, and are all integrated with leading video management systems, command and control integration platforms, and access control systems.

The iCVR-MP family of megapixel dome cameras deliver full 1,080p resolution and frame rate, zero bandwidth recording, full megapixel analytics and support for the company’s IQTrack automatic digital PTZ zoom and track system. They feature up to 0.5TB of intelligent, onboard Network Video Recorder (NVR) storage within each camera, which eliminates the need for expensive centralized storage and reduces deployment costs, system complexity, infrastructure, time and resources. “With up to a 0.5TB of onboard storage, customers can simplify infrastructure and deploy megapixel cameras for the first time across existing networks, wide area and wireless networks - once believed impossible,” said Scott Schnell, president and CEO of VideoIQ.

The iCVR dome camera range also stores video in up to 0.5TB of onboard storage for several months worth of recording, eliminating the need to stream images across a network to a central NVR, which reduces network traffic and bandwidth consumption by over 90%, unlike conventional IP video surveillance systems which have significant bandwidth and storage requirements. As a result, the cameras simplify infrastructure dramatically, and can be easily deployed over existing networks, wireless networks and cellular connections. The system’s adaptive analytics – which self-calibrate in minutes – maintain calibration over time, and are capable of uniquely distinguishing people and vehicles from other objects, animals and scene movement.

The iCST line of streaming cameras and encoders are designed for use in environments with central storage and third-party video management systems. The line includes the iCST-MP, which delivers 1,080p video at up to 30 frames per second. With almost seven times the resolution of a standard VGA camera, its operators can digitally zoom in for superior detail, or cover nearly three times the horizontal area with a single camera, which reduces costs by allowing customers to cover the same area with fewer cameras. With on-camera megapixel analytics, customers can take advantage of over two times the range of D1 analytics. Standard resolution iCST camera models feature powerful wide dynamic range day/night sensors for high video quality in the broadest range of conditions.
