Jupiter Systems has revealed enhancements to its PixelNet distributed display wall system. The company has added an audio output node, a Quad SD video input node, enhanced SDI capability for the broadcast, a window borders and titles feature, support for multiple walls in a single PixelNet domain, and integration of streaming video sources. PixelNet is Jupiter’s new way to capture, distribute, control, and display digital and analog video sources from small conference rooms to large, traffic control rooms and 911 dispatch centers.
The system distributes the process of capturing inputs, routing signals, and displaying content among intelligent nodes, in doing so making it easier and less expensive to design, build, and manage complex control rooms. Based on technology widely used in data communication networks, PixelNet adopts Gigabit Ethernet and Ethernet switches for use with high-resolution, real-time video. Using packet-switching technology, any information source can be shown on any display, as a window on a single display, or as a window spanning multiple display devices in a display wall. Any source can be shown at any size on any display or array of displays.
“With the introduction of these new capabilities, our PixelNet technology provides a comprehensive, integrated, and seamless platform for AV control,” says John Stark, director of product management and technical services at Jupiter. “The enhanced system offers scalability, flexibility, continuous reliability, and low cost of installation and maintenance. It enables us to deliver audio and video sources on multiple displays in multiple locations from a single control point.”
